Even before the beginning of the Fusion Futbol Club, three heritage club teams are celebrating being named one of the final four teams in their age group making it to the FYSA State Cup Championship Weekend on May 16-17, 2009.
We are proud of the accomplishments of the New Tampa U13 Comets team coached by Mauricio Pesaresi and KC Vanderluit (pictured below).

Black Watch is proudly represented by the U15 Dundee coached by Steve Wegerle . . .

and the U16 Falkirk coached by Roland Moldovan and Julian Gutierrez.

This is the 2nd year in a row that the Falkirk has achieved this distinction.
Great job boys! Best wishes to all three teams!!
5/17/09 UPDATE: All three teams represented their clubs and the Fusion FC very well.
The U13 Comets beat South Florida Elite FC 2-1 earning their way into State Cup Finals. The Comets brought their state cup run to an end against a very good West Pines United team (0-3). What an accomplishment the first year this age group is eligible to play state cup. This team has a lot of promise going into next season and the next State Cup.
The U16 BW Falkirk, coached by Roland Moldovan, also won their semi-finals game against Saa Real Madrid in PKs moving on to Finals vs. Florida Rush. The win against Real Madrid was especially exciting because the Falkirk lost to that same team in that very same game last year. So nice to be victorious this year, but then lost to the Florida Rush. Given another opportunity in competition against Real Madrid, the Falkirk hope to see the Florida Rush team in the near future.
Congratulations to all Fusion teams!! You represented your club(s) proudly!!The U15 BW Dundee, coached by Steve Wegerle, lost their fight in the semi-finals on 5/16 when their match ended regulation play plus two overtime sessions as a 0-0 tie then went to PKs from the mark. They lost that very close battle to the eventual State Cup champions. Way to go, Dundee!!
