Roland has a diverse and extensive soccer background. He played all age levels in 1986 until 1995 for F.C. Universitatea Cluj and participated in international tournaments in France, Holland and Hungary. From 1995 to 1997 Roland was also a 1st and Reserve 2nd division professional player (2nd place National Soccer Championship under 18 division in 1995). He earned his BS degree in Physical Education and Sports in 2002 at the University of Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca in Romania and is expected to complete his master’s degree this year. Roland currently has a Romanian Soccer Federation category 3 coaching license, a US Soccer National C license, and a CPR/First Aid Certification. His team was champions of Regional Super Club in 2005, U14 CDL in 2006 and U15 CDL in 2007. Roland has spent five yeas with the Former Black Watch and four years as head coach of the former Black Watch Falkirk team. The Falkirk has achieved many accolades these past years that include league championships, advancements to the FYSA State Cup Final Four & Finalists, as well as, numerous tournament trophies. Roland is known for his ability to develop soccer players. Several of his players have achieved US Men’s National Team and Regional and State ODP team recognition.
