Fusion Futbol Club will be implementing a Recreational Academy for the 2010-2011 season. This Academy format is supported by the Florida Youth Soccer Association and the US National Coaching Staff. The academy is available for all U5, U6, U7 and U8 recreational players.
The overall philosophy of the Academy is to develop the players first. Both in training and games the coaching staff will be focused on making a player more competent on the field and not focused on winning and losing games.
In the Academy approach, there are no teams in the traditional sense. Each week players will train with groups that will help them develop certain skills and abilities. Players will be required to use the skills and concepts worked on in training to achieve those goals during the game. The U5s will train before their games on Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. The U6s will train on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month at 5:30 p.m., in addition to activities and games on Saturdays at 10:15 a.m. U7s will train on Tuesday or Thursday at 5:30 p.m., in addition to activities and games on Saturdays at 12:00 p.m.
A mandatory parent information meeting will take place on October 24, 2009 at Benito Middle School (U5 at 9:30, U6 at 10:30 and U7 at 11:30). We will go over scheduling and the academy philosophy.
Fusion F.C. believes that the Academy is an exceptional program that will continue to develop players for the future and to keep kids playing soccer.
