On the heels of the following events that have been held at the Premier Sports Campus, Lakewood Ranch fields (see address & directions added below):

• Tampa Bay Labor Day Showcase (9/3/11 - 9/5/11) - our joint Fusion FC & Clearwater Chargers tournament
• Nike Friendlies & the US Soccer Development Academy Showcase (11/3/11 - 12/6/11)
• U15 Men’s National Team Training Camp (12/13/11 - 12/18/11)
• U23 Men’s National Team Training Camp (12/5/11 - 12/23/11)

We want to let you know about more wonderful events that are coming to town.  

Three (3) great events coming in January:

1. The U23 US Women’s National Team is training at the Premier Sports Campus, Lakewood Ranch fields (Bradenton, FL) from 1/15/12 - 1/22/12.  ** 
    
2. The Clearwater U16b USSF Development Academy Team will scrimmage the U23 US Women’s National Team on Saturday, 1/21/12 at 1pm at the Premier Sport Campus.  **
    
3. DC United - 4 time MLS Cup Champion will hold it’s Pre-Season Soccer Training at the Premier Sports Campus from 1/23/12 - 2/2/12.   **

Fusion Trivia Question Answer:  There are two aspects of this article that will be part of our soon-to-be merged club, The Chargers Soccer Club (Fusion FC & Clearwater Chargers).

They are:  

1. The Clearwater Chargers have been a charter member of the US Soccer Development Academy since the programs inception in 2007.  There are two age groups in this program across the U.S.:  U16 (U15 & U16) and U18 (U17 & U18). There are also prior Fusion players that play on current Clearwater’s Academy teams.  This program will continue on with our merged club.  Click here to go to the Overview of the program on the US Soccer website.
   
   
2. The Clearwater Chargers SC are the primary host club at the Premier Sports Campus fields at Lakewood Ranch (Brandenton, FL). The Premier Sports Campus is the home fields for the Lakewood Ranch teams and is now also the location of our annual Labor Day Showcase and Easter International tournaments.  The Premier Sports Campus is a showcase facility featuring 22+ professional size fields (10 of which are fully lit), all with celebration Turf (120x 75) and state-of-the-art underground irrigation and drainage systems plus over 40 acres of parking.  As you can see, other key soccer organizations in the U.S. recognize the professional level of this field site.
